The problem with wanting more realism for your simulator is that you also need to have a suitable and powerful PC that goes with it.
This is the moment where I think I made the decision to jump into this project completely. It wasn’t an easy decision, in my mind I went through a million different possible scenarios of how this could be built, I could add some equipment, I could shape the cockpit to include the essentials or I could go fully loaded. I decided to go for the last option, with one caveat… I was not going to be in a hurry, after all I did not have the money to buy everything at once any way.
The great thing of this hobby is that you can take as many years as you need to build the cockpit but still, at the same time, being able to fly it in any conditions it is.
So what new from the last update. A new PC for start:
Windows 7 Home Professional (x64) Service Pack 1,
Asus P8Z77-V,
Intel Core I7 3770K 3.50 Ghz,
16 GB, PC3-memory,
Asus Radeon HD 7970,
Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB, S-ATA III.
3 New monitors for the external view and a CP Flight MCP EL version
Let’s be honest, how cool is it to not having to use the mouse when you enter speed, altitude etc. I can finally press buttons now, real ones….
I spent some time with this setup but eventually it was time to move on to better things….
Stay tuned for the next update.
